The Practical Work Skills course is designed to help you build confidence, develop independence and gain valuable skills for the future. Through hands-on activities and real-life projects, you’ll learn by doing while exploring different vocational areas and discovering what you’re good at.

No Maths and English GCSE? No problem, you can retake your Maths and English GCSE alongside this course.
Entry Requirements for Entry Level 3: Be able to write at a high Entry 2 or at Entry 3 Level.
Entry Requirements for Level 1: Be able to write at a high Entry 3 or at Level 1.
No. We offer different levels to suit a range of abilities and experience.
Complete the online registration form – you will then be emailed the next steps.
Yes, successful completion leads to recognised qualifications.
Absolutely. We encourage learners and families to attend an open event or arrange a visit.
After completing this course you could:
• Progress to a Level 1 qualification.
• Move into an apprenticeship or employment.
• Decide what you enjoyed learning, and study this subject further, such as construction, photography, farming, painting and decorating.
All YMCA Key College accredited vocational courses are for learners aged 16-18. If you have an EHCP, you can study with us until the age of 24.
